Hi: 10° Lo:2° 7 day

A WOMAN had to be airlifted to hospital after the green Kawasaki motorbike she was on collided with a car in Bromsgrove on Sunday (August 19), leaving her trapped under the vehicle.
The incident happened at around 5.30pm at the junction of the A448 and A38.
The motorbike joined the roundabout from the A38 Birmingham Road and, as it reached the Oakalls exit, it was involved in a crash with a blue VW Golf which had come onto the island from the A448 Bromsgrove Highway.
The woman, who was in her late teens and was a pillion on the bike, sustained multiple serious injuries.
Three ambulances, a paramedic area support officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford with a MERIT trauma doctor on board were sent to the scene.
As ambulance crews worked with the doctor to carry out emergency treatment, the fire service worked to get the woman out.
She was given pain relief at the scene and, after being immobilised with a neck collar and spinal board, she was flown to the trauma centre at Birmingham's Queen Elizabeth Hospital. She received emergency treatment and remains at the QE in a critical but stable condition.
A West Midlands Ambulance spokeswoman said: "Due to her serious condition, the doctor decided to anaesthetise her on scene."
She added medics at the hospital were pre-alerted to the woman's arrival.
The motorcycle rider, who was in his 20s, also came off the bike and suffered shoulder and neck injuries. He was taken to Redditch's Alexandra Hospital. The driver of a car sustained shock and minor injuries. He was also taken to the Alex.
Darren Packwood, Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service's watch commander said two crews from Bromsgrove were sent to the scene.
And he confirmed inflatable airbags were used by firefighters to release the woman from under the vehicle so she could be flown to hospital.
Following the crash, the police are now trying to piece together exactly what happened.
Investigating officer, PC David Langridge, has urged anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information to call him on 101, quoting the reference 185-N-190812.
