LICKEY End has been put on the world map thanks to T-shirts being sold in America.

New US company Totally Trippin Tees is selling a range of tops and hats emblazoned with ‘unusual’ place names on them.

And the ‘Lickey End, Worcestershire, England’ design is shoulder to shoulder on the site with names of global cities such as New York, Berlin and Rome.

Proud residents can also buy ‘Lickey End’ branded mouse mats, badges or even iphone covers among other products because of the area’s quirky name.

A spokesperson from Vintage Vamp, which is selling the designs said, whilst, said: “These are in one of our Zazzle shops dedicated to designs featuring towns with unusual names.

“While most of them are US towns, some are abroad, such as Lickey End since we have quite a few customers from the UK.”

Dr Brian Cooper, Bromsgrove District Councillor for Marlbrook which covers much of Lickey End, said it was great news.

“It’s nice to know our T-shirts will be sold around the globe and good Lickey End will be known across the globe.”
