CRAMAR Cat Rescue, which has seen a surge in the number of abandoned kittens coming into the centre, is holding an open day from 12midday on Sunday (August 19).

Staff are hoping their forthcoming event at the Redditch Road sanctuary will help find owners for some of the 65 kittens and cats they are already caring for.

They are also struggling to afford to feed all of the cats they look after and are relying on donations from the public to keep them going.

Rachael, the sanctuary supervisor, said in seven years there, it was one of the busiest times she had ever known.

“We are really hoping there are people in the local area who will adopt one or more of these unfortunates who through no fault of their own find themselves homeless.”
