PITCH maintenance problems have resulted in Bromsgrove Sporting having to cancel Saturday’s friendly against Stourbridge.

Tuesday’s (7.45pm) clash against Halesowen Town will still go ahead but be played at Great Wyrley FC, whilst the game against Barnt Green Spartak on August 28 will take place at Pilkington XXX.

There are no changes to the away matches at Alvechurch on July 21 (3pm), Stourport on July 24 (7.30pm) and Studley on July 31 (7.45pm).

Manager Keith Draper has already overseen several training sessions and received a lot of interest from players who are keen in joining the club.

The club’s finances were discussed at a Board Meeting on Tuesday night and with attendances having dropped in the second half of the season, things remain tight.

It is hoped however, that an increase in use of the Rouslers Bar for functions and sportsman’s evenings, such as the one held with Jan Molby on Friday, will generate further income.

Former Kidderminster Harriers manager Molby proved a popular guest, discussing his time at Ajax and Liverpool before taking questions from the floor.
