THERE will be plenty of activities at Bromsgrove’s Artrix during the school summer holidays when the venue plays host to its Family Fun Festival.

There will be workshops, activities, stalls, films and shows on the first four Fridays of August, along with a free bouncy castle and drop-in activities between 11am and 3pm.

There is a full-week’s Mad Science Holiday Club from August 6 to 10, where children aged between four and 12 can spend the week making chocolate welded towers, creating a walking robot, eating edible slime and making things go bang.

There will also be a Mad Science show and free foyer stalls on August 10.

Young filmmakers can take part in the Lights, Camera, Action! Day on August 3 and for those wanting to show off their skills, there is a performance workshop followed by the ever-popular free talent show on August 3 at 2pm.

Those wanting to take part just need to call the box office for a slot.

Magic Russ will be at Artrix on August 17 to make free balloon models and put on a fun magic show at 2pm.

There will be Graffiti Art Workshops on August 17 and 24, along with Acting Up! drama sessions, lots of craft, Glamba drumming and JETS pottery, face-painting, nail art and more.

The Lion King will provide a film for all the family on August 10 and Ice Age 4 will be shown on August 17.

Both of those will be special screenings - especially for those who like to be more active. There will be space for wheelchairs or dancing and those needing to pop out or wanting to sing along can do so.

Local director Dan Tyler and his company Hotel Teatro will put on a stage production of ‘Fantastic Mr Fox’ and Storybag Theatre will be bringing a mash-up of traditional tales entitled ‘The Pea, The Bean and The Enormous Turnip’.

For more, and tickets, visit www.artrix.co.uk, call 01527 577330 or visit the School Drive venue each day between 10am and 4pm.
