A £4,000 watch, jewellery and a Samsung TV were stolen from a house in Hollywood following a burglary in broad daylight.

Access was gained to the house, on Hawthorn Drive, by the thieves who used keys left in the back door to open it.

Among the items taken in the incident, which happened between 8am and 6pm on Monday (July 23), were a gentleman's Breitling watch with a metal strap and black face, worth £4,000, gold jewellery which was of sentimental value to the owners, brand new designer clothes and sunglasses, a quantity of cash and the television.

PC Cheryl Jones said: "As this was a daytime burglary, we are eager to hear from anyone who remembers seeing any suspicious activity in the area on Monday, particularly any unfamiliar vehicles parked nearby.

"We would also like to hear from anyone who may have been offered a Samsung TV, designer clothing or items of jewellery for sale since Monday."

Police are urging residents not to leave keys where they can be easily accessed through a window or letterbox.

Witnesses or anyone with any information on the burglary should call PC Jones on 0300 333 3000 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
