Men foiled trying to break into house in Lickey

TWO MEN were disturbed whilst trying to burgle a house in the Lickey Hills.

The incident happened just before 9am on Wednesday (July 4) when the Warren Lane householder saw the pair trying to get into the property.

They had got into the back garden, which is next to the Lickey Hills Country Park, lifting one of the fence panels to gain access.

They were trying to open the locked patio doors and, after being spotted, ran back into the country park, towards the Visitor Centre.

One of the men was white, in his early 20s, 5ft 8ins tall, and of slim build. He had short dark hair and a long, pointed nose and face. He was wearing a black hooded top and blue jeans.

The second man was also wearing a black hooded top, but that is all the householder saw.

Det Con Tony Flannagan from Bromsgrove CID said: "Thankfully, the patio door was locked and the men were disturbed by the householder, leaving the scene empty-handed and without causing any damage."

He appealed for anyone who saw anything suspicious in that area at that time to contact him on 0300 333 3000 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
