Hi: 10° Lo:2° 7 day

A BRAVE man in his 60s fended off a knife-wielding attacker who threatened him with the blade as he walked in Catshill.
The incident happened at 10.45pm on Saturday night (July 7) in Chadcote Way when the raider, who was on the other side of the road, shouted to him to ask him if he had any money.
The robber then crossed and threatened the victim, but, as he did this, lost his balance. The victim seized his opportunity and pushed him over, causing him to fall off the kerbside and into the road.
The raider had an Eastern European accent, was in his mid 30s, 6ft 6ins tall and of slim build. He was wearing a black hooded top and black jeans.
After being pushed to the ground the attacker shouted something in a foreign language and was helped to his feet by two other men before they were all forced to flee empty-handed towards Church Road.
PC Ash Kumar said the victim was, understandably, very scared during the attack and was left extremely shaken by the ordeal.
"We are eager to hear from anyone who was in the Chadcote Way area late on Saturday evening and thinks they may have seen these men or the robbery taking place."
Witnesses or anyone with any information should contact PC Kumar on 0300 333 3000 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111..
