Cars and cash stolen in Bromsgrove armed robbery

A GANG of masked raiders stole two cars, £250 cash and a haul of expensive belongings when they broke into a Bromsgrove town centre flat and attacked the man living there.

The robbers burst in through the front entrance from Windsor Street at around 9pm last Wednesday (June 27) and threatened the victim and his girlfriend with extendable batons.

After being attacked, the man was left with bruising and swelling to his arms and head.

The two cars - a black BMW X5 and a white Ford Fiesta - were later found abandoned in Redditch. The BMW was recovered from Redstone Lane, Church Hill, and the Fiesta from Birmingham Road.

The thieves escaped with the cash, along with a £350 Armani watch, a rose gold and diamond edged Fossil watch, an Apple iPhone, bank cards and a digital camera.

Two of the gang members were of mixed race, around 5ft 7ins tall and slim. They were wearing dark clothes.

Another was white and of similar build. He was wearing similar dark clothing.

The raiders also used a Suburu as part of the get away and police have urged anyone who might have seen the convoy speeding off in the town centre or travelling between Bromsgrove and Redditch to get in touch.

Det Con Clare Pearson of Bromsgrove CID said: "There was quite a commotion when the gang entered the flat and a lot of activity as they left.

"This was a nasty incident."
