Hi: 9° Lo:3° 7 day

BARNT Green picked up a second successive Birmingham League Premier Division victory in dramatic fashion on Saturday when they won at West Bromwich Dartmouth off the final ball of the match.
In a rain affected contest, the hosts had 45 overs to try and surpass Green’s 203-7 but they were beaten when Imran Khan (27 off 17 balls) was caught by Nathan Newport off Stephen Bevan (4-62) when trying to his a six that would have won the game.
The visitors saw their innings reduced to 49 overs but managed to pass 200 thanks to fine contributions from James Ord (43), Craig Crowe (43) and Kieran Rees (36).
Aatif Ali (4-53) bowled well to keep their progress in check and he received good support from Junead Zaman who took two wickets.
Nick Powell (2-61) gave Green the perfect start when reducing Dartmouth to 2-2 and the visitors remained on top with the help of Andrew Sutton (4-51) who made it 31-3 when having Adil Jiva (9) caught by Adam Smith.
Navdeep Poonia (60) and captain Guriq Randhawa (27) added 71 for the fourth wicket but four wickets then fell for 11 runs to make it 113-7.
Aamir Farooque (23) and Hafeez Khan (33) dug in to hold up Green again before Khan’s late cameo almost won them the game.
Barnt Green will look to continue their winning ways when they travel to Barnt Green tomorrow.
