HUNDREDS of patriotic residents turned out to the Jubilee Party held on The Oakalls and Parklands estates on Sunday (May 27).
Among the attractions were an afternoon of fun and games, craft-making, glitter tattoos, face-painting, a tombola, photo booth, tug of war and performances by Silkie the Clown, classical music and one on a fairground organ.
Revellers enjoyed local cider, ice creams, hot potatoes, a pig roast and samosas and there was also a jubilee hat parade, judged by Coun Caroline Spencer.
Two-year-old Henry Clark, who won the under eights category, was presented with an embroidered teddy bear donated by Bright Start Childcare.
And Dylan Rees, who won the over eights, scooped an engraved medal. Runner-up Megan Guest won a jubilee mug.
The event, which took months to plan by a group of residents, was hailed a great success.
Resident Lorraine Aspland said: "A great afternoon, a great time had by many, great atmosphere and great memories made for our children."
