A MAN in his 30s suffered a fractured pelvis and internal bleeding after a two-car crash in Tardebigge this morning (Monday).

The incident happened on Hewell Lane at around 11.45am.

Ambulance crews found substantial damage to the drivers' side and foot well of one of the cars.

The driver had to be cut from the vehicle by the fire service, before being given pain relief and immobilised with a spinal board and pelvic splint. He was then taken to the region's specialist trauma centre at Birmingham's QE Hospital.

There he was assessed further and given more treatment.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson confirmed an ambulance, a rapid response vehicle, a paramedic area support officer, a senior paramedic officer, a medic and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford, with a MERIT emergency doctor, were sent to the scene.
