THIS ENAMEL chocolate and cream Bromsgrove Railway Station sign from the early 1950s will be going up for auction on May 19.

The 36ins by 10ins sign, which would have been removed by the early 1970s to be replaced with a modern plastic one, has an estimated value of between £600 and £800.

It will be among more than 500 other lots at the GW Railwayana Auctions Ltd event, which takes place Pershore High School, Station Road, Pershore.

Tony Hoskins, the director of GW Railwayana Auctions, said: "A rare totem in virtually mint condition and by far the best ever offered."
