Man died after motorway bridge fall

A MAN died after falling from a motorway bridge, on the Junction 4 Lydiate Ash Island on the M5, yesterday morning (Thursday).

Police confirmed they recieved several calls around 10.20am and unfortunately the 24-year-old, from Birmingham, died as a result of his injuries at the scene a short time later despite the best efforts of the Emergancy services.

Both north and southbound carriageways were closed while police officers launched their investigation. Traffic was diverted and the road was reopened at 12.30pm.

No one else is being sought in connection with the incident, but officers are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to call them on 0300 333 3000, quoting reference number 131-S-170512.
