A BROMSGROVE tattoo artist has scooped a prestigious award at this year's Liverpool Tattoo Convention.
Ollie Tye, from Custom Colour Tattoo Studio, Catshill, fought off more than 200 artists from around the World to win the accolade for the Best Black and Grey Piece.
The show, at the city's Adelphi Hotel, is considered the most prestigious and innovative Tattoo Show in the UK.
As well as the award, Ollie and Paul Talbot, from Custom Colour, also had boards they had designed as part of the Starboards project.
That, the brainchild of Chris Jones, showcased more than 70 skateboards painted by top artists so they could be auctioned for charity.
Paul's board was won at a silent auction by Nick Baldwin from Gung-ho Tattoo in Birmingham and Ollie's will be on ebay very soon.
Those wanting to find out more on Starboards can visit http://www.starboards.org/ and those wanting more on Custom Colour can call 01527 759434, e-mail info@customcolourtattoo.com or visit www.customcolourtattoo.com.
