BROMSGROVE & REDDITCH Athletic Club ladies recorded a time of 2:03:47 to finish 29th out of 37 teams who competed in the English Road Relay Association Nike National Road Relays on Saturday in Sutton Park, Birmingham.
The B&R team beat local rivals Worcester Athletic Club by just one place in this six-stage relay in which another 14 incomplete teams also took part.
As in the Midlands Relay two weeks ago, Katy Anderson ran the fastest three-mile leg for B&R as she improved her time to 18:47.
The gold medals were won by the 2011 champions Aldershot whose team included Great Britain international Stephanie Twell, although it was Twell's team-mate Charlotte Purdue who ran the fastest leg of all in 15:29.

Unlike the women's relay, where all the legs are the same length, the men's 12-stage relay consists of four long legs, each interspersed by two short legs.
Several B&R men improved their times achieved when qualifying at the Midlands Relay and the team finished 57th in a time of 5:06:11.
Adam Lloyd ran a long leg instead of a short leg this time and recorded the club's best time of 30:22 for the 5.4 miles.
Sean Bowden was quickest B&R runner on a short leg as he covered the three miles in 16:21.
Tipton Harriers won the event by nearly three minutes from second placed Leeds City, with Notts AC taking the bronze medals.
