BROMSGROVE District Council has put a new development site up for sale as part of its Town Centre Action Plan.
The land between Hanover Street, St John Street and Market Place is the latest of the town centre regeneration partnership’s planned development sites, to be made available and includes the land incorporating the car park and George House.
It comes after permission was granted for other regeneration projects including the health centre on Stourbridge Road, the extra care village planned for Recreation Road and the combined 'blue light' police and fire station planned for School Drive.
The council has earmarked this latest site for a mix of shops, leisure facilities and homes.
Coun Del Booth said: "Developers have shown serious interest in this site for some time because, as a cornerstone of the town centre, it is an attractive proposition.
"We are seeking a committed partner prepared to bring a high quality, appropriate development to Bromsgrove, to complement both the major upgrade to the High Street public realm and the townscape heritage project."
The council has employed commercial property consultants, New Road-based JP Dillon, to market the site.
