Burglars take property worth almost £8,000 from Webbs

A FORK-LIFT truck worth £7,500 was stolen during a burglary at Webbs garden centre in Hagley, between 6pm and 9.20pm, on Monday (April 16).

Along with the orange and black Nissan vehicle, there was also a plastics recycling and crushing machine, five 15kg butane gas bottles worth £60 each, two 13kg patio gas bottles worth £30 each and a metal wheelbarrow worth £30 taken.

A West Mercia Police Community Support Officer (CSO) saw two men in balaclavas trying to put a trailer on the back of a black 4x4 at the premises on Kidderminster Road South.

PC Ann O'Herlihy said: "The offenders would have needed a large vehicle to take away the forklift truck so it is likely that someone would have seen it being driven away."

She appealed for any witnesses or anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area before or after to call her on 0300 333 3000 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
