CHURCH members from across the county have travelled out to Morogoro in Tanzania to build up relationships between the Diocese of Worcester and parishes over there.
The link-up was set up in 2010 as a way for the two dioceses to learn from each other.
Ten people from a number of parishes made the journey, which was led by Rev Canon John Green, vicar of the Bowbrook group of Churches and, as well as setting up links, the group was there to support Berega Hospital.
Represented parishes included Feckenham, Stock and Bradley, Stoke Prior, Hanbury, Wychbold, Upton Warren, Himbleton and Tibberton.
Speaking ahead of the trip, Ann Matthews, the churchwarden at Feckenham Church, said one of the reasons was to build a long-term relationship with the hospital, which the group had raised money for before it left.
“In Africa, so many women die in childbirth from things that can easily be prevented, leaving a great many orphans that need to be looked after too.
“In the UK, we take so much for granted and it will be a real experience to go out to Tanzania to see the situation there,” she added.
The group left after Easter and will be there for ten days.
