CHRIS Conway struck deep into injury time to earn Bromsgrove Sporting a point at Alvis on Saturday.
The visitors went into the game in buoyant mood following their crushing victory against title hopefuls Blackwood seven days earlier but they looked to be heading to defeat against an Alvis side who they entertain in the return fixture on Saturday before Conway saved the day.
Manager Keith Draper kept faith with the same starting eleven from the Blackwood clash whilst Alvis fielded former Sheffield United, Coventry City and Cameroon international Patrick Suffo up front.
The home side started brighter, pinning the Rouslers back in their own half and going close with a couple of shots from Suffo and lively left-winger Ryan Isherwood.
Their efforts were rewarded in the 12th minute when neat passing by Isherwood and Dean Kimberlin stretched Bromsgrove's defence as Remi Martins-Tonks received the ball 12-yards out and made no mistake with just Tom Savage between the sticks to beat.
The lead lasted just three minutes though as Mike Thurbon hit a long range free-kick downfield to Conway and he quickly fed Jon Rogers to fire home from ten-yards.
There was not much between the sides for the remainder of the half as both had a couple of reasonable efforts that kept the goalkeepers busy.
As they did in the first half, Alvis started the stronger again at the start of the second half but gradually Sporting increased the pace of the game as they started to get on top.
The more bodies they pushed forward though the more space they left at the back and that allowed Alvis to take the lead against the run of play when Ryan Isherwood fired home after being put through by Sean Judge.
Both sides had further chances in the last ten minutes as Alvis tried to kill the game off and Bromsgrove tried to draw level.
Sporting, and Conway in particular, had the final say three minutes into stoppage time when Conway scored with a well placed shot after being fed by substitute Robbie Hendry.
