AS THE Standard’s Let’s Get Bromsgrove Playing campaign enters its second week, we want to hear from you if you are organising play events across the district.
We want individuals, schools, churches, youth groups or other organisations to get in touch, either to tell us when the events are happening, or to send us pictures of your games sessions after they have taken place.
We officially launched the campaign last Friday (February 10) to get Bromsgrove youngsters playing again after shocking statistics from Play England showed a staggering quarter of children in the West Midlands had never built a den, a third had never climbed a tree and eight per cent had never ridden a bike
Our specially designated Facebook page: www.facebook.com/playinbromsgrove which provides explanations of and the rules to a variety of games has already had almost 50 likes and we want more people to get involved.
Among the gems listed are British Bulldog, Dodgeball, Hopscotch, Stuck in the Mud and What’s the time Mr Wolf.
We want you to add your games to the list, along with play ideas and details of your favourite play areas across Bromsgrove.
To contact us about your play events or ideas, either call us on 01527 588657, e-mail editor@bromsgrovestandard.co.uk or log onto the Facebook page and help us get Bromsgrove playing again.
