Help the Primrose Hospice have a great 25th year

THE PRIMROSE Hospice, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, has launched the Loose Change Makes Big Changes campaign.

The drive urges residents to collect and contribute their loose change to the cause, either by having one of the Primrose’s green collecting tins for their club or workplace or by picking up the special 25th anniversary envelopes.

The green tins raise around £8,000 per year for the Primrose.

Lyn Winters, the Primrose Hospice’s fund-raising manager, said small contributions could really make the charity’s 25th anniversay year a special one.

“If everyone in our catchment area gave 25p, we would raise £40,000 to enable us to continue our work at the hospice.”

Special 25th anniversary envelopes will be available in Primrose Hospice Shops and at the Standard’s offices in Bromsgrove and Redditch.

Because of thefts, the charity has taken the decision to attach chains to all of their tins they are now putting out. Those with the old tins can exchange them for the new tins with chains.

On Saturday (February 18), the hospice’s lottery representative, Eric Nicholls, will be at the Bromsgrove Primrose shop to show residents how they can take part.

The draw, for just £1 per ticket per week, puts participants in with a weekly chance of winning £1,500 worth of cash, when it is drawn every Monday.

Depending on interest shown tomorrow, Eric will also be back in the Bromsgrove store to talk about the lottery on Tuesday and Friday (February 21 and 24).

The lottery contributes £70,000 towards the £1.5million needed each year so the Primrose can offer its services free of charge to those who need them.
