One down, five to go for Rubery marathon man

A RUBERY runner is undertaking six marathons in six months to raise funds for MacMillan Cancer Support.

Kevin Green has already successfully completed his first one - in Gloucester on January 22.

Next up for him is The Cotswolds in February, before he returns to Gloucester in March.

After that, in April, he will be running the 26.2mile courses that Worcester and Stratford have to offer.

And his last one will be at The Malverns.

He said: "We all know someone who has been affected by cancer and the MacMillan nurses is a great cause."

Kevin is no stranger to charity challenges - previously, he has completed the London Marathon, participated in other runs, including a gruelling 40-mile one, and climbed up The Himilayas.

"This is the first time I have felt I am doing something major - this is a big and scary challenge," he added.
