A FANTASTIC display from Bromsgrove Sporting saw them end 2011 on a high as they overcame ten-man Inkberrow 7-1 at the Victoria Ground to move into the second round of the Evesham Hospital Cup on Saturday.
The visitors lost Tom Whitehead to a red card in the 38th minute when he handled the ball on his own goal line, giving Sporting a penalty which Joe Brookes converted despite Dan Danson getting a hand to it.
Mikey Stewart had given Sporting the lead 20 minutes earlier with his first goal for the club whilst Karl Fellows and Chris Conway netted before half time to make it 4-1.
Chris White gave the visitors a bit of hope when he caught the Sporting defence dozing to pull one back with a well taken strike but it was always going to be an uphill struggle for them and that proved the case as Brookes converted another penalty.
Nicky Martin added to the goal tally with his first for the club before Stewart completed the scoring with his second of the game.
