THESE two women are being sought by police investigating an incident of racial abuse which happened on a train as it was travelling through Alvechurch on November 7.

An Asian conductor was racially abused on the 7.30pm Redditch to Lichfield service, when he encountered two women who did not have tickets.

After asking them to leave the train, the women swore at him and made racist comments.

Officers from British Transport Police were alerted to the incident and now want to speak to the women shown on the CCTV image.

PC Mark Murphy said: “Rail staff informed police but both women left the train and the station before officers arrived at Alvechurch.

“BTP will not tolerate abuse of any kind towards rail staff, who deserve to go about their duties without being subjected to behaviour such as this."

Anyone who recognises the women or who witnessed the incident should call British Transport Police on 0800 405040 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
